What a first session is like
You talk, mostly. I will ask what brought you here now rather than a year ago, which is usually the more interesting question. Nothing is decided in the first fifty minutes, and you are not committing to anything by coming.

How it usually runs

A first session
Fifty minutes. At the end we decide together whether to carry on, and there is no pressure in either direction.

Weekly, for a while
Same day, same time. Most people come weekly for a few months; some stay longer, and a few need four sessions and are done.

Stopping
Planned, not sudden. The last session is a session, not a cancellation.
Cancellations more than twenty-four hours ahead are free. Inside that, the session is charged — not as a penalty, but because the hour was held for you.
Payment by transfer, after the session or monthly, whichever you prefer.
Notes are minimal, kept locked, and never shared without your written consent.
Questions people ask before writing
How long will this take?
Nobody can tell you honestly at the start. What I can say is that we will look at it together at session six, and again at twelve, so it never drifts on without being discussed.
What if I do not like it?
Say so. If it is me, I will help you find somebody else — there is no loyalty owed here, and a poor fit wastes your money and your time.
Is it confidential?
Yes, with the legal exceptions every practitioner has: a serious risk to you or to somebody else. I would tell you before doing anything, except where telling you would make it worse.
