Ninety minutes of talking, twice a week, in groups of five. No textbook, no drills, and nobody switches to English.
Almost everybody who arrives here can conjugate better than they can speak. That is what a decade of written exercises produces: a large passive vocabulary and no practice at the one thing that is frightening, which is talking before the sentence is finished in your head.
So that is all we do. Ninety minutes of it, twice a week, in a group small enough that nobody hides.
Nobody switches to English. Ever.
Not in the first class, not when somebody is stuck, not to explain a rule. It is the whole method and it is uncomfortable for about three weeks.

Fifteen minutes of warm-up
Everybody says something about their week. It is the only part where mistakes are not corrected at all.

A landlord, a doctor, an argument about a bill. Played out, twice, with roles swapped.
