Night Shift
Interviews with the people who work while the rest of us are asleep. Every Tuesday, about forty minutes.
A baker at four in the morning. A night nurse at two. A long-haul pilot somewhere over Greenland. One conversation a week with somebody whose working day starts when yours ends, about what that does to a life.
Where to listen

How an episode is made
1
A shift
I turn up at the start of somebody's working night and stay until it ends. The interview happens somewhere in the middle, when talking has become easier than not.
2
The edit
Six hours down to forty minutes. Nothing is reordered to change a meaning, which is a rule and not a preference.
3
The check
Everybody hears their episode before it goes out and can cut anything they regret. Three people have. All three were right.
Paste something a customer actually wrote to you. This is the one block on the page nobody should fill in for you.
Support the show
Five euros a month gets you every episode a week early with no ads, and the monthly bonus conversation that is too long for the main feed.
